Do you want to get a free IBAN account? This is a guide to receiving an International Bank Account Number (IBAN) in Europe.
This account is very useful in making international and local EU transactions. Opening an account with Rewire will give you a free IBAN and also allow you to make free online and offline transactions with a MasterCard Debit.
Before getting your IBAN, ensure that you have already signed up for a Rewire account before you follow this guide. If you have an account, log into your account.
1. Complete your Account
Go to the "Account" tab and then click "Complete your account."
2. Identification
To verify your account we will need an identity document and selfie, click "choose document" then choose your type of ID document. You'll have to upload one of the following documents in the next step:
- Passport (International)
- Citizenship or Residence Card (EU issued)
- Driving License (EU/UK issued)
3. Upload ID/Take Photo of ID
Position the photo ID is inside the rectangle to set up the photo and click the white button. Make sure all 4 corners are visible inside the rectangle and check readability after, it should be clear and not blurry. Then you can click "Submit"
4. Take a Selfie
Take a selfie, click "take a selfie" then make sure your face is inside the white oval shape and click the white circle button. Then check your selfie after.
5. Fill in your Address
Fill in your address, starting with street name and then house/building number, apartment number, post code, city andd followed by entering date of birth and click "continue."
6. Upload Salary Slip
To set up a Euro account please upload a picture of your salary slip, also enter your Salary amount below the picture and click “Submit.”
7. IBAN is being processed
You may need to wait up to 1 business day for your IBAN to processed once that is done you will be able to activate your virtual card.
8. Your IBAN is ready
Now you can receive money sent from your employer around Europe. Next you need to load money so you can start sending money home/to your friends in Europe or get a free MasterCard Debit and use it.
